The Real Beginning of the Blog…The MEPL

Levolution is a new book of science that expounds some very edgy concepts.  I will separate these out so you may either read them, or attack them, individually.  The basic notion is that there is quite a bit more to Thermodynamics than science has discovered.

The entropy law points the direction for energy flow in the universe, but it ignores the fact that energy always flows downhill “as fast as possible, within constraints”.  This is very deeply embedded in thermodynamics, and is the discovery of Rod Swenson.  The Maximum Entropy Production Law, which I think is the Fourth Law of Thermodynamics, says that energy will allocate itself to the pathways that will take it downward in potential the fastest, within constraints.  It is a “selection of pathways” principle.

Water flowing down a hill will select the steepest, deepest, widest channels.  It’s about that simple.
